Jeff Webb Cheerleading is a successful company owner, author, and entrepreneur from Shelby County, Tennessee. He is the founder and president of the International Cheer Union, the senior editor of Washington, D.C.-based news and commentary website Human Events, and a philanthropist and conservationist. Webb has appeared in several high-profile magazines, including Entrepreneur, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal. He has also written several best-selling books, including American Restoration: Unshackling the Great Middle Class.

Webb launched the International Cheer Union in 2004, now serving over 7.5 million athletes worldwide. The organization is a proud member of the Association for International Sports for Everyone and a nonprofit worldwide governing body. Its objective and purpose are to improve the sport of cheer.

Webb is the senior news editor of Human Events, which began as a print journal in 1944 and transitioned to a digital-only magazine in 2013. He co-publishes the website with executive opinion editor Will Chamberlain, and he oversaw Human Events’ purchase of The Post Millennial, a Canadian online news magazine, in 2022.

Webb founded Varsity Spirit in 1974, now part of the Varsity Brands parent business. He was the CEO of Varsity Brands until 2018 and the chairman until 2020. Varsity Spirit is a global innovator in cheering, dance teams, and the performing arts. Over a million athletes connect with Varsity Spirit annually through educational camps, contests, and other activities.

Webb served as Herff Jones’ chairman until 2020. Herff Jones is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is heavily active in collegiate and professional sports, including cheering. It is primarily recognized for producing and distributing educational recognition items and achievement-based motivating materials.

Webb graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in political science and government. Throughout his time at the university, he became an active campus leader and was heavily involved with the cheer squad. As a result of his engagement, he began working for the National Cheerleaders Association while still a university student. After finishing his studies, he left the National Cheerleaders Association to found the International Cheerleading Association and the predecessor of Varsity Brands, Varsity Spirit.
